ALPHA 1/137

Alpha 1/137

Alpha, denoted 1/137, is a constant of physics, an omnipresent and mysterious number that makes the stability of atoms possible and shapes the universe as we know it.

Dimensionless and unitless, this impenetrable fraction appears universal and suggests that a fundamental discovery may lie within its understanding.

This film, through an immersive cinema experience, attempts to illustrate the existence of this constant by plunging the audience into a quantum journey. It invites viewers to perceive reality in terms of particles, energy, and vibrations, if only for a moment, in order to grasp the essence and importance of balance and connection between all things, through this number.

This project stands out for its approach shot almost entirely in macro photography. Except for a few narrative shots where it is evident, it uses no computer-generated imagery.

This is made possible through the use of pigments, solvents, and other chemical reactions filmed at very high resolution, allowing an atom or a nebula to be depicted in a highly "realistic" way.

Each concept of physics explored in this film has an associated macro-photographic process, seeking to remain as faithful as possible to the principles being addressed.
