This film will try to reinterpret the kené patterns, visions and patterns induced by ayahuasca in the Shipibo’s culture,
mainly using an acrylic pouring process called « viscous fingering » that is used to obtain fractal shapes.
Playing with this technic offered a way to create progression and continuity, as the fractal patterns would starts as a simple vertical « lifeline », a metaphor for Icaro as the Shamanic song, that hold you to the world of livings during the ceremony, progressively increasing the pattern's complexity while the trip is starting.
For the strings part at the end, The shape would turn into something explosive but wavy and smooth, the final appeasement of the mind as it can be at the end of an ayahuasca ceremony.
Ólafur Arnalds : Woven Song was one of the first songs I wrote for 'some kind of peace' but ended up becoming a defining moment of the writing process. It is a metaphor for being embraced by something larger than yourself while exploring new territories, the feeling of being held while you open your heart.
